Recent Reads #2

Hello and welcome back to my "recent reads" blog series, where I talk about 3-5 books that I've been reading! This is recent reads #1. Today I'll be sharing some books that I've enjoyed from January to February of 2021!

1. Six of Crows

This gorgeous book, written by Leigh Bardugo, is about 6 thieves that come together to pull an impossible heist. This book is the first of a duology, the second book named "Crooked Kingdom." I haven't read that one yet, but I'm excited to get to it.

This book has become one of my all-time favorites. Why? I'm a big sucker for amazing writing, and this had the most flow-y and poetic writing as well as an incredibly executed plot.

This book needs your undivided attention. You won't understand it if you don't pay attention to every little detail mentioned, which really just adds to the genius crafting of this book if you ask me.

2. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder

This book was a brilliantly crafted mystery by Holly Jackson that I read in January. It was definitely the best book I read that month, and it helped me get back into mysteries. This book is centered around a girl named Pip who tries to solve a small town murder. Soon she gets involved and realizes the dark past of someone she knew... and how people aren't always what they seem.

This book was very haunting, especially for me since I read the majority of it at 2-3am. I would recommend it to anyone ages 12 and above.

There's another book out called Good Girl, Bad Blood which follows Pip solving another mystery.

These are two of my favorite recent reads!
